Learn how to manage household composition changes in Empowor to ensure accurate reporting and proper enrollment adjustments.
1. One Leaves, One Stays, and Keeps the Child
- If John moves out and Jane stays with the child:
- Set a new Primary Participant if needed.
- Consider whether to end or start new enrollments for each participant.
Keep in mind the effective date of the move out. This will help keep reports accurate. Do not just remove John from the Household.
2. Someone Moves Back In
- If John moves back in with Jane:
- Update the household composition in the system.
- Ensure enrollments reflect the change.
3. They All Move
- If Jane and the child move to Jane’s parents’ home and John moves separately:
- Remove participants properly, ensuring the Primary is the last to be removed.
- Adjust enrollments accordingly.
- The original household becomes inactive but remains available in reports.
- If a member returns, the system will prompt reactivation of the inactive household.
NOTE: While inactive, past household (ID4) data is still available in reports. If a previous household member returns to this household, the system will ask if you want to move them back into the inactive household. If the answer is yes, the inactive household will be reactivated.
